The Beginning

Detour Traffic was founded in 2006 by David Ventrello. David worked with a national media corporation performing several tasks. He was the upstate area Air One traffic reporter, a studio traffic reporter for several major upstate stations, and often filled the role of studio producer, chasing down traffic delays and communicating with local law enforcement agencies.

In 2006, there was a shift in the upstate traffic reporting market, and David started Detour Traffic to continue to provide traffic reports for HIS Radio 89.3. Relying 100% on support from local businesses, David currently provides the HIS Radio network traffic reports on HIS 89.3 and Christian Talk 660 and 92.9FM through the persona of Scott Gorman, his on air name. Detour Traffic partners with local companies who become sponsors of Detour Traffic to brand themselves during the on air reports.
